The Drunken Monk's Sermon

This Blog Is No Longer Behind

Well I've been neglecting my blog duties lately! I sincerely apologize. I have been dealing with sick kids since we got back from our great trip to Cali, and it's dampened the mood a bit around the home. I have been trying to let the funk slide off my back, and this weekend there is a distinct possibility that will happen. The fact that my daughters are feeling much better helps out tremendously!!

I got Killzone 2 and made it about half way through the campaign in an evening. While there doesn't seem to be too much involved in that regard, I will say that it is intense. I found myself having to quit playing, not because it was getting too late, but because I was gripping the controller so hard that my hands were starting to hurt. I found it a bit curious that I was doing that LMAO. Haven't tried online yet, but will in a few days I think.

Yesterday I received a copy of Chronicles of Riddick to review for Neo. In order to earn my keep here at Neo, I jumped on it immediately and am currently working my way through......probably close to 25% finished with the game, so hope to have that wrapped up by weekend end and review turned in Monday. Just in time to receive another game for review......one that I will keep quiet on for now.....but I think you will like it. ;)

So, back into the gaming world I sink.....but not before getting some other fun stuff on the side. LEGO mania has officially taken over the whole household. After toying with the notion of getting LEGO around Christmas time and ultimately ending up giving them to my step-son instead, I decided to dive head first into it after building a few superior kits. One of which being General Grievous that I picked up for only $30. In the LEGO world my friends, THAT is a steal!!

We had thought about taking the kids to LEGOland for Dylan and the girl's Birthdays, but unfortunately just can't swing the price tag of ~$1000 after factoring accommodations, gas, tickets, and food. But we still wanted to do something fun with a lower price range. After doing some research I come to find that not only is there a LEGO store a couple hours away from us, they also do birthday parties and such. SOLD!!!!

Well now I just have to go to this store, but we need money.....and LOTS of it! ^.^ So we decided to have a bit of a garage sale on ebay and craigslist. We did indeed sell the Wii for $300 yesterday which was our big source of LEGO income, and I sold some other stuff for $50. I'm trying to get rid of two high ticket items and save up for the millenium falcon......but no dice there as of yet. It seems no one is interested in the Darkness comic art like they used to be, which is a shame considering how great these pieces are. I bought them directly from the inker, so it was a pretty cool experience for me anyway.

I received the Boeing LEGO jet yesterday, and we're going to the LEGO store tomorrow for some Pick-A-Brick cups and I think the Ferry. We're making kind of a date out of it, hitting up Joe's Crab Shack before heading home for the evening to get drunk and have wild.......LEGO fun. :P

It's funny how my wife has been trying really hard to deny the fact that she's a LEGO maniac deep down inside......that is until she saw the Taj Mahal, castles, and some of the architectural buildings people build up. Now I think I owe my wife something like $600 in LEGO kits.....me and my damned hobbies!! LMAO
