The Drunken Monk's Sermon

Well it's been a full week, so I figure an update is in order. I haven't been playing too much Mirror's Edge the last few days. Mainly because I'm having problems logging into EA's servers and seeing the leader boards and ghosts for some of the speed runs. So I finally decided to slip in Burnout Paradise and give it a go. Well, same bullshit with EA's servers. I don't understand what the deal is, and after 4 days of waiting I still have no answer from EA as to what the cause is. I do indeed have a valid account with them, so the hold up is on their end. I can log in just fine on my comp, but when it comes to my PS3 forget it.

Not to be deterred, I started playing Burnout Paradise anyway. I have a very nice racing chair and the GT driving wheel that rarely works with racing games. After unburying it in the garage, I dragged it in and gave it a whirl. It works like a champ on that game!!! I'm so excited I FINALLY get to use my chair and wheel for something! For some reason it was really worthless playing GRID and I just could never get into NFS Carbon. I'm having a blast with Burnout though. Now if only EA would fix their shit I could go online and tear it up!!

Checked my e-mail; yep still waiting.......damn you EA!!!! Anyway, I'm one of the few missing out on the Killzone 2 rage. While the demo was alright, I wasn't overly impressed with it. And my money has been getting tighter since we started this madness called '09. Our savings and extra money have been pumped dry by lawyer's fees for my step sons court battles, not to mention a short Cali tripped planned in April, our taxes being utter shit, and everyone needing new clothes at once. HUZZAH!!!!!

There are still quite a few games I would like to get.....one of them being Super Mario Galaxy. The problem is that Nintendo NEVER drops their damn prices! They still want $50 for that game, and it makes it very difficult to justify the expense when I can get much more action packed titles to feed my gaming needs. Drop it to $20 and I will buy it tomorrow Nintendo, C'MON!!!

I still haven't turned on the Wii, even after vowing to do so about 3 months ago.....LMFAO; seriously. I do have the Super Mario RPG on it that I haven't even turned on but I really haven't been feeling RPG's too much lately because I have been trying so hard to catch up on past RPG's. I think the latest one I played really burned me out *cough* Final Fantasy IV *cough*. Not to mention I have 4 that are 'in process' as I like to call 'em.

It's been very hard for me to play games without trophies these days to be honest. I know I shouldn't be admitting that, but it's true. I definitely feel a little tingle of joy when I unlock a trophy.....it's a tad bit disturbing. If I was to list all of the incomplete games, I could probably fill up two blogs!! LMAO

Lately my wife's main goal in life has been to clean the house and organize everything....regardless of my protests!! Perhaps mine should be to complete these damn games! With this money crunch we're facing, I can guarantee I won't be short on games to play.......only NEW ones. Wait until I get that Sonic collection.......over 40 titles to keep me busy!!! For only $30!!! A true gift for the budget gamer!! Now which one of these unfinished ones are going to Gamestop........
