Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - Mirror Of Fate review by Gryzor

Round 78 of the Articles Of Excellence ends with Gryzor giving the semi-sequel to the reboot of the Castlevania series a review. Sadly, he describes his time with the game as one that's confused about its overall design and found it flat and underwhelming as a whole. He did point out a few things that redeemed this otherwise mediocre game, but then he brings you back down to Earth by pointing out what makes this game so tepid and uninspired.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - Mirror Of Fate Score: 5/10
Genre: Platformer/hack and slash

Really, this could've been a great game, but it feels like Mercury Stream didn't quite capitalize on much, if anything that they had at their disposal here.

quote Gryzor
Mirror Of Fate is just weird. It wants to play like the 2D Castlevania games, but it has the feel of the 3D Castlevania games. It wants to be like the Metroidvania games in that there's a huge

Ni No Kuni review by Hell Fire

Round 77 of the Articles Of Excellence ends with Hell Fire coming back to the winner's circle, this time with a review of Ni No Kuni. He describes the game as one where you'll fall in love with the world around you and the critters (or Familiars, if you will) that you can capture, although capturing them is a bit tricky and getting captured by the plot via the main three characters is about as hard. Nevertheless, there are some grand villains, an awesome sidekick with a Scottish accent and a bunch of NPCs with good enough dialogue to compel you to do the myriad of sidequests on offer.

Ni No Kuni Score: 8.7/10
Genre: Role Playing Game

Even with the few flaws, NNK stands to be one of the most enjoyable JRPGs of the decade and I can confidently recommend it anyone who enjoys a role-playing experience.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. To be honest, it’s not the most app

Hello 2013

It's 2am, I need to sleep. Adam and I just...you know, and he's fast asleep. I was so tired before but my scumbag eyes decided to stay open a little longer.

Haven't gone online on Neo for a bit. Haven't posted much. Haven't started a thread since, when, a year ago? I feel like a stranger tbh, like how I once felt waaaay back in 2009 when I was sort of a noob who didnt care about constructing a proper sentence so long as i put in what i want to say i wanted to have some sort of a home and a neoofamily like what every1 had before especially in the harvest moon forums when i thought getting neomarried was true love a sacntity between 2 ppl and i postes on the thred and askd ppl to help me wit taking care of my cows

I was a nursing student back then when I first received my first console, a battered white Gameboy Advance that once fell into a toilet bowl. My cousin got an XP and a DS and had

Heavenly Sword review by Alyssa

Round 75 of the Articles Of Excellence ends with Alyssa scoring another win, this time with her review of Heavenly Sword. She prefaces the review by saying how it was ignored due to being released at the wrong time, and explains that if it was released under different circumstances, it would immediately be a classic, perhaps outside of some gimmicky motion controls. But hey, if you have excellent combat, a fantastic story and surprisingly good animation, it's very easy to overlook the motion controls.

Heavenly Sword Score: 9/10
Genre: Hack and Slash

With a dynamic cast of characters and intense battles, it's hard to deny that Heavenly Sword is definitely one of the finest games in this generation.

quote Alyssa
Damn, 2007 was a gooood year. Before the seventh generation became little more than corporate greed and generic faceless crap, there were a bunch of games that could give a lot of

Inhale's 1st Blog! Check out My Profile!

What's up? I can't believe I haven't done this yet. Or should I rephrase that, I don't have a laptop, or the time to Neoseek as much as I want to. Anyways, I'm here mostly to say that I finally updated the Interest section of my profile. I was looking at my profile, and was surprise to see I have over 15000 views or something along the lines. I was like, "How can I have this many views when I have an empty profile". So I figured it's time I shared a bit about myself, for those who care to get to know Inhale a bit. Read my profile, you may share some of my interests. Anyways, I'm a pretty good guy. Hit me up, holla at me, don't judge me just because I smoke weed. I hate people who judge someone just because they smoke weed. If weed doesn't interfere with the person's life, and hasn't changed who they are, then what's the problem? Anyways, please, hit me up. By all means, I love neoseeker.

Bioshock Infinite review by Demonfurby

Round 74 of the Articles Of Excellence ended a bit later than usual, but Gryzor was in hospital between Monday and Friday so he couldn't make the AOE deadline. So sorry about that. But enough of that, because he has a review to make the winner, and this period's winner is none other than Demonfurby's review of Bioshock Infinite. He describes it as one of the finest games ever made, and for a game made in the year 2013 to accomplish this, it's definitely something to consider.

Bioshock Infinite Score: 10/10
Genre: First Person Shooter

Please buy it, support Irrational. Support a change for the better. For the betterment of the genre, and industry as a whole.

quote Demonfurby
Wow.

That's all I was thinking after completing Irrational's latest masterpiece, BioShock Infinite. My mind was officially blown. Not because of the immense atmosphere, juxtaposed by the highs of the soaring, majestic

Cakedays and Such

Nine years ago today I (with the permission of my parents, of course; it would be almost three years yet before I got my own laptop for Christmas) hit the register button on this site. While I can’t truly claim to have been here for all nine of those years, but for a good portion of that time Neoseeker has been a part of my life. A much bigger part of my life than I could have imagined when I started out.

I derped about in various obscure N64 forums for a little while, not really having a taste of true forum activity until I stumbled across the Super Smash Bros Melee forum. Now that, in mid to late 04 and early 05, was fun times. People like Gotenks, Skaterstar57, Larn, RAGE THE DRAGOON, Harvest Moon girl, Neo Apocolypse, Crash Into Me, Brooklyn, ssbm freak, Sosai X, Dark Link, shadow, Short Circuit, and probably dozens of others I’m failing to name made the place amazingly fun and incre

DmC - Devil May Cry review by Gryzor

Round 73 of the Articles Of Excellence ends with Gryzor giving the reboot of the Devil May Cry franchise some kind words, giving kudos to the parts that work really well, but add a cruel tinge towards parts where it fails. He describes this reboot as one with excellent art design and a great combat engine, but a poor story and underwhelming enemies and bosses to utilize such a good combat engine on.

DmC - Devil May Cry Score: 6/10
Genre: Hack and Slash

It's not so much the hype that let me down, as much as it was the potential to be a fantastic game because if they followed through with their designs a lot better, the 8s and 9s and even Tameem's boasting would be justified, but as is... it's worth a rental, but nothing more.

quote Gryzor
The one thing that captures the attention of any potential buyer is what's on the box. As much as people bang on about looking up reviews and trailers,
