Hey guys! I have some prototypes for a website that i'm working on ( http://questional.com ), and I need some help choosing my logo! Gimme some feedback! Feel free to leave comments here, or directly on each of the images link! Thanks!
Its basically a question and answer website. Similar to yahoo answers, but will be a million times better. I have some crazy plans for the site, but gotta keep it hush hush right now.
8 and 10 are definitely the best designs. However, each could do with some tweaking if you want a professional web 2.0 logo to go with your snazzy sounding website.
8 - The question-mark made out of circles is interesting but doesn't sit right with the typography. It's far too big in relation to the text but it also confuses the brand-name: is it "Questional?" or just "Questional". Why not resize the "?" to a similar size as the "q", flip it horizontally so it resembles a "q" and stick it at the front of the text in the place of the "q". Or altenatively you could keep the black box style of the first letter and simply change the "q" to a backwards "?", with a bit of extra manipulation it could quite easily resemble a "q".
10 - The font you've used in this logo is most suited to the content of the website. Reminds me of how perfect the typography in Wikipedia's logo is - spot-on simplicity is always better than a failed attempt at complexity. The question mark ball could turn into a really interesting logo with a bit of fine tuning. Currently the varying opacities and layers over-complicate it. I'd love to see a solid colour version with only one, maybe two colours and no overlapping. A simpler, "vector-style" logo would be a lot more flexible when upscaling the logo or changing colour schemes.
I'm loving 10 but the drop shadow is off putting. I'd say tweak it or get rid of it. Getting rid of it and going with The Dave's suggestion of a one or 2 color solid version would be good.
8 and 10 are my most favorite. 8 gives off a more light-hearted casual vibe to me, while 10 feels very "corporate" and far more serious due to the dark colors and the font type.
10 looks the best. It's professional in many ways, and the color scheme is great - it's almost as if green symbolizes asking questions. haha.. Good logos.
If you got something rolling with a very pronounced Q that somehow doubled as a sort of question mark, I think you'd have it down. Just as an icon. As for the full one name, I'd go as far as to incorporate 2-3 colors and make the Q and the A the same color, possibly work in a subtle ampersand (&) in between them.
Agree with Dave overall, though. Even if I'm a couple months late.
Any information about the site/business in general?
