My Blog: Cultural Bloggings To Benefit Boredom

Bang, Zoom, Straight To E3.

So, E3 is here. This is my first major experience with a Gaming Expo, and I'm really looking forward to it. So, instead of a regular blog, I just got bored and put a list together of 20-or-so things that would make me so happy I would run around screaming. I tried to add things that I'm not sure have been announced yet, so not Dead Rising 2 or Alan Wake. Sorry.

If anyone has any already existing games like those I've mentioned, say. I'll probably enjoy them.

1: The Next Halo
Ok, it's going to happen. When and by whom is still undecided, but it will. With Halo: ODST looking pretty good and Halo Wars being proof that the series can do well without FPS elements, I think a new Halo will be inevitable. I'd love something with the same action as Halo, though with a more interesting plot, potentially more characters, guns and vechiles. Because remember: It's just not a good game until you have n

Originality is so goddamn hard

So, I'm trying to write something. Something that feels fresh. Something that has a different spin, like a dark animated film or a funny RomCom.

My aim is something that will give a comparison - like I said, an original. Like the way that Watchmen changed the comic genre with it's grittiness and how Harry Potter changed fantasy. The thing is, everything has been done.

I planned a historical story, in which the world was facing destruction in the 1800s due to a time lapse, giving the past the weapons of the future. Sadly, it's been done. A dark animated film. Great. Tim Burton's 9 got their first.

Superheroes in recluse. Hancock. Lost islands. Jurrasic Park. I'm at a loss for ideas.

My question is, how do you get ideas in this day and age? When everything has (or is in the process of being) done, how can you be original?

I really hate myself at times.

As the title says, I really despise myself at times.

Now this is going to sound like another stereotypical teen moan about life thing, and I'm sorry. But I have a group of 'friends', who are the most immature people I've met, and seem to have nothing better to do than insult me.

Basically, they knock on my door at quarter to nine, they seem to find ways of me supporting Tottenham as an insult, and then insult me more. Woo, good way to start the day.

So I tell myself through the day that I'll do something else. That I won't hang out with them. That I will talk to someone else. But I can't, because even though I like being alone, I prefer to be alone in the privacy of my own home, and not act like a loner with other people that I could hang out with.

But at break they seem to insult me, and make stupid comments:

Me: The thing about Spurs, they're not very good at ending a match...

Illness sucks

So today I have to stay behind from school, because I can't swallow and I can barely talk, so I've been catching up on some homework and trying a level I keep failing at on Halo to try and ease the pain.

My mum's being nice, very helpful whilst I'm ill. I like being home normally, no little siblings, Tv to myself etc. But today's going to suck.

Me and my 17 year old brother share a room. We've done it forever for some reason, mainly because there's never enough rooms in a house and we have to share. So about 2 years ago, he gets a girlfriend, also named Sam. So they have their love puppy, posting Myspace comments and constant talking for about a year and a half, until the summer where they break up, and then she phones him constantly. Then my brother gets pissed, then I get scared, then he shouts at me. Went on for about 5 months.

Now, he's nice and kissy to her when she's here, but when

Realisations and Understanding

It's funny how a snow day can change your view of yourself.

Today, I had the day off school, because of the worst (or best, however you look at it) snowfall in England for 20 years. There was inches of it, literally a blanket of white. It was incredible, beautiful, something I'd never seen and won't see again for a long time.

So, great. Snowballs, snowmen, scarves and smiles. Everyone was having fun, people making huge snowmen, my little brothers and sisters having the time of their lives in our small back garden, falling over laughing and making snow angels. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Sadly, there was one real thing I realized that I was missing. I don't have a real 'companion'. I don't mean a friend, everyone has friends, but a real friend-friend. Someone who does everything with someone else, who understands you, who likes you for who you are and who isn't a dick to you.

The Bucket List

'This is my bucket list. All the things I wanna do before I-'
'-kick the bucket.'

This film has made an impact on me. Despite the fact that I haven't seen it.

Just by watching the trailers 2 years ago, I felt that a bucket list is a fantastic idea, and since Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson (or, Lucius and the Joker) did one, I thought I'd oblige too.

So I have one, now. Still in the early stages of development. About 30 things on there at the moment, with still loads more to go. And I'm going to do them.

I'm sure as hell doing them all.

Character Study: Mr Freeze

Lately, I've been trying to get back into writing stories, and after I watched Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, I decided I'd start writing a story about a specific renegade in Gotham City.

The first thing I decided was that it was going to be set in the Nolanverse, a.k.a - Ghul is dead, Two-Face is dead etc. The second thing I decided was that it wasn't going to revolve around a popular character, so no Batman story, no Joker (much as I wanted), and no Robin. And then a certain character appeared through my looks through the certain Wiki's - a very interesting character, unlike all the other villains.

Mr. Freeze is a unique villain, as he has different intentions then any other Batman character. He's not doing it for fun (the Joker, Riddler), he's not doing it because he can't help himself (Killer Croc, Penguin), he's doing it on good intentions for his wife.

Basically, I wanted to give

And it's December...

When I got up this morning (30 minutes late due to my alarm clock), my little brother came in, shouting about advent calenders, and 'Where's my Bart Simpson Calender?!' And then I realised. It's December already.

Bloody hell, this year's gone by fast.

So, when I'm sitting in my Science lesson, I'm just thinking about the year, and how quickly it's gone, and what I can actually remember from it. So, I've tried to make a list of 5 things that really stood out this year.

5: Lewis Hamilton winning the F1. Was probably all the news footage the day after that kept it in my mind.

4: All the hype before and after 'The Dark Knight' aired. Maybe because all the Joker fangirls TALKING ABOUT IT EVERYWHERE.

3: Michael Phelps rampage in Beijing, and Usian Bolt pretty much breaking the human speed barrier.

2: Everything about the LHC and CERN. Seriously, how stupid were some of us?

1: 1 surely has to be Obam

The Hour of the Mind

The Midnight Hour

This just struck me, so it probably makes no sense, but I'm currently in the middle of my 'Midnight Hour'. I'm guessing most people have this. It's an hour, usually late at night or early in the morning, when time seems to last forever, or just seems to fly by.

I'm guessing most people have a 'Midnight Hour'. I find my Midnight Hour is when I'm either lying in bed, trying to get to sleep, or when I'm on the computer at Midnight, trying to stay awake.

Basically, it's a period of time where you try to do anything to get rid of your boredom/go to sleep, and you end up just lying down, staring into space. And you start thinking. You don't need to even be thinking of anything in particular, just staring into space.

And the strangest ideas hit you. The strangest concepts, like my 'Midnight Hour'. The different things you think, and worry about, or are angry about just fly acros

Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink.

I've come to the conclusion that most people on msn are idiots.

Not all of them, I'll make that clear - some people on msn are very nice to talk to. But I always find there's a few dumbasses who seem to never get the picture.

There's 3 types of msn annoyances.

1: People who types like 'Hi m8, wuu2 - u gun movii 2nite?', which is both hard to read and really annoying,

2: The people who continue to send you winks/stuff to be downloaded, despite you saying you don't want it, and

3: The idiots who post 'r u der, r u der' every freaking second, and keep nudging me.

Maybe I'm just adding the wrong people.

OK, maybe I should say something worthwhile in this blog rather than just a general, every day common stereotype moan.

I think I have a small problem, in which I laugh hysterically when I am performing in Drama, or just speaking to the class in school. It's usually at the worst time too - like t
