My Head Asplode

Sitting on a bed in a pitch black basement alone in a foreign house in a foreign city. The basement is noisy and the house is creaky, and I gave up exploration after a while as it became apparent that any hidden lurkers I happened upon would only pounce at me upon discovery.
Good time as any to start a blog.

To begin, the house is that of my aunt and uncle, and the city is Ottawa; one that I'm staying in for a few days. They went off with other relatives to their cottage while I chose to remain here. The basement is the coolest (temperature-wise) room in the house, so I'm choosing to sleep there. I will likely be here a few days further as I promised a friend we would be staying until after Canada Day before heading back home to Nova Scotia.

This only serves to explain the means by which I put myself in this position; I can't really justify or handle it any better. Whether I've logically determined that something bad happening are statistically improbable or I've simply dulled out aprehension, the only thing that disturbs me is that this doesn't disturb me. But it IS all kinds of **cked up.
