While some anime have different openings between languages, some do not. Heck, some anime aren't in English at all. No messin' around, let's get right into my ten favorite Japanese anime openings!

Starting us off is the theme starting the world of our lord and savior, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! I was split on which of the two openings to use, since they're both great in their own right, but I'm more familiar with the first one, so it got the nod. I feel that it works for the anime, since it has a combination of energy and calm that the anime will throw your way.

One of the first things you see when beginning an anime is its opening. The first thing you hear is its theme. If you watched a fair share of dubbed anime, like myself, you'll notice that the openings are sometimes different between languages. Sometimes, they're good. Sometimes... not so much. But this list showcases some of the best English opening themes in anime. I'll mostly be going by sound, so don't expect any scientific reasoning here. Let's begin! Excel Saga



Starting off the list is Excel Saga! To quote a YouTube comment, Excel Saga is the most brilliant piece of incoherance ever. The key to enjoying this Anime is realizing that there are three or four different storylines going on at once. Beyond that, it's strange, it's goofy, and it's over the top. But it's most certainly unique, and that's what counts.

Absol



Starting us off is Absol, the Disaster Pokemon. Upon seeing Absol, I instantly thought it was pretty cool. Upon using it while playing Emerald, this went even further, as Absol has very impressive power backing up its attacks despite Dark being an unfortunate type for the time. If you use Absol in the Third Generation games, expect the easiest fight with the Elite Four's Phoebie of your life.

Latios

Number 10 is Latios,the Eon Pokemon. Why do I dislike Latios? Because it is too easy to use for far too much reward. If it manages to use the move Draco Meteor on anything that isn't a Steel-type or named Chansey,odds are it's going down. The reason it's so low is because that's about all it does. If you can get it to use Draco Meteor enough,it won't be able to defend itself.

Would I use it? If I had nothing else to use,maybe.

When Infernape is considered old school,something has gone horribly wrong. Nevertheless,Infernape here makes a pretty good lead. It's faster than Mienshao,for one,and can deal some serious damage early on. Fake Out breaks Focus Sashes and,well,it's free damage. Stealth Rock makes certain Pokemon easier to handle (Lookin' at you,Dragonite). Flare Blitz and Close Combat are STABs and pack some serious punch.
