So bored and decided to "google" my name, funnily enough most of me as ShadowJ cropped up and then a few odd bits popped up that weren't but I must say, this is the first time I have come across something that was me but not me at the same time.

To explain, in 2000-2001 I joined a 2D text based roleplaying game known as Barp Online. This is basically where "ShadowJ" came from and if any of you search the writing forum then you will find his story that was created within Barp, grown and still is growing even now. Yes that means I have been working on his story for around 9 years now and it has even been split into three stories (not a trilogy just yet)

Following on from my Attempting to Understand Jack Thompson article, it seems there ARE people out there that are concerned for children's well being. So what is my problem about this and why am I blogging about it?

During my daily prowl of the Battlefield Heroes forums, Goodman, the community team manager had placed a new rule up about not using the words "beta" or "key" within a topic title in order to get the creative juices flowing and of course stop many members complaining and whining about having no beta key. If you are a regular of the Steam forum then you must know about the Red Vs Blue matches that Lorx and Celes have been planning for awhile now.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago it failed on Left 4 Dead due to not many turning up. The week after that it worked for CS:S since FlippyX was able to secure us one of his clan's servers. Last Week it also failed for Team Fortress 2 when we thought we found a dead server and it suddenly gained players that weren't from Neoseeker. This left it to be postponed to this Saturday, giving us a week to gain a TF2 server.

This would have meant bugging Bobbo or someone else from Neo to gain a server yet for awhile now I have been thinking of grabbing a dedicated server. A few days ago I found www.multiplay.co.uk, these guys provide a swappable server for cheap that allows you to switch the games you play...perfect for RvB.

It's a funny old world we live in with many mysteries that go unsolved and many questions unanswered but how do you answer the question "If you had the choice between the Xbox 360 or PS3, which one would you choose and why?"

I already answered that question last year and bought myself a PS3 because my friends had one and the plan was to play against them online, unfortunately everytime I have tried to play online it has ended in a bad experience well it has either been laggy or just not worked at all.

Seems the Xfire Debate Club (The Two Handed Sword) has been out of action for over a year and so what better way to bring it back into 2009 than to start with such an exploding topic.

Now I am part of the debate club and so this is why I am posting it right here and now. The debate starts on Feb 24th (next Tuesday) and so if there are any questions you want to ask the gaming industry panel that shall also be debating alongside us, your best time to state them is pretty much now.

Well the debate won't be a question and answer type thing but more or less the "chat moderator" will give a topic to discuss, in one room the gaming industry panel will have their own debate and then in another we will have ours.

Well, well, well, with the second phase of the Battlefield Heroes beta starting I have been somewhat tied up recently and only just checked my email. Due to helping improve the forums by being active and volunteering to become a community moderator to help fight spam, I was given a beta key as a reward for participating.

Now unfortunately I lost due to a voting system that was left to the public and the fact most of the times I was attacked merely for giving my experience that I gained from Neoseeker as advice, however it is only a trial run to see if such a feature would work for their forums.

Anyhoo, so yes I have this beta key ready and waiting for an owner yet there are so many people I know that want to play. I was tempted to give it to Tekmosis so he could play the game and then pester the devs into giving Neoseeker beta keys to throw into a contest but that same guy won't acknowledg

So back from the tattoo parlour with an unfinished tattoo and a sore back, will be fun sleeping tonight as I will have to sleep on my side or stomach.

Anyway for those unaware, I already have tattoo and have had it for the last three years, which I found funny as the tattoo artist said to me "Three years? Blimey how have you gone that long without getting another?"



I could bore you with the reason why I got a second tattoo but meh I suppose I can edit it in if it must be bought up.

Anyway below was the original idea for the tattoo, originally being two separate tattoos. If you are a local to Steam, Neoseeker Steam Group or the Neoseeker Steam Forum, then you more or less will have seen me pottering about under the name TR Salvenius.neo (or obviously in the forum, ShadowJ) However I know that most do not check the announcements or enter the chat room within Steam, so to cover all bases I shall post it here and a thread in the Steam forum.

Add: 91.192.208.20:27016 and 91.192.208.99:8936 for Teamspeak server to your favourite servers in steam. From there the game will pick it up in the favourites tab when you click play multiplayer.

Currently the server is bland but that is mainly due to me getting used to the admin controls on Cyberneticservers.co.uk, our providers. I'm afraid though that the server is located in the UK, meaning Non-UK gamers would gain a higher ping but hopefully not a massive one like many of us know of ;)

Oops I swore and in the title no doubt but that's how I feel at this moment in time. I just want to get into every person's face that complains about the taboo things found in games, sues companies and generally ruins everything for everyone in the world. I want to grab them by the throat and roar in their selfish faces "*bleep* OFF!"

So why is that? Could be because I'm tired? Because I'm stressed and it's near Xmas? Because I realised my dad is never coming back from the 6ft grave he now resides in?

Believe me when I say this, no, it is not because of them although they are affecting me just recently but this blog isn't about that. No this blog is to rant about those idiots in the media that are currently degrading the games industry and forcing them to tread carefully.

So today's world, what has that got something to do with it? Well it is because of today's world that this is happening.
