Chapter 14: Descent

Quite a bit happened in the last couple months. I tried to help the USA forum in its activity and even created a game thread for it, but it was too complicated, and I found myself totally unwilling to carry it out, so I had to kill it early on. Shamefully, I kind of let down USA. Academia also had some trouble. I introduced the game Travian to Academia, and we had a thread there about it, the same that brought activity to the forum. A few weeks later, a member suggested the Travian forum, having seen this thread and that some people would actually use such a forum. Shortly thereafter, the forum was founded, and the thread in Academia fell into stagnation again. Just a few days ago, Praetorian_Lord lost his moderator status for Academia and its sub-forum. It was sad to see him leave the moderator team. He is still a trusted friend of mine, and he is the kind of

Tips for "Candidates"

Alright, you guys need to tone it down a little. You have not even been accepted yet. Before you launch your campaigns, wait until you are actually in the running.

Another thing, do not try to come off as so presidential that you are not yourself. You need to be yourself for this campaign. Some people seem to be trying too hard to look like a president, and it just seems fake. The trick is showing the people who you are and how that makes you right for the spot. If you cannot do this, then you should not run. You will only fail and waste your time.

Also, do not try to make numerous, huge promises to people. At most, I made two promises, and they were pretty small things. People will think you are taking this too seriously, and that was a problem that I had in the last election. Like I said in my address, be competitive, but do not let your whole reputation weigh down on this.

American vs. Australian II

Gaining Ground

Well, I am glad that my blog prompted the response I wanted, which you can see in the following link.

http://blogs.neoseeker.com/Marshal+Loss/173-overzealous-crusading-in-neoseeker-starring-rome/

I want to state what I think are improvements on Marshal Loss' part. He has adjusted some of his statements to versions that I think are more appropriate and made some proper disclaimers.

quote His Profile
I do however apologize to all americans who took offence at it, it is not my true beliefs and I really am sorry. If you are offended by my current ones, however, then I have no such apology to add. Also to any Australians, who, reading Rome's blog took it literally too, I never claimed to represent my countrys viewpoint nor did I ever intend somebody to do something as stupid, at least in my opinion, as Rome's, though that does not excuse it. I can only apologise to those two grou

American vs. Australian

The harsh loss for Marshal Loss

A couple weeks ago, I came upon the profile of Marshal Loss. I read it, and I was dismayed to see that he had some mightier-than-thou remarks about my country, America. In fact, that tone seems to embody his whole profile. This is everything he says about America, as quoted from his profile:

quote His Profile
About America.

Listen, America is easily the most powerful and influential country in the world, yet

1. There are alot of religious fanatics ruling it
2. Everone carries a gun
3. Generally the people who carry a gun are religious as well, thus making them 2x dangerous
4. The government is stupid
5. People are just so ignorant!

Sorry, but your great "country" does not give me any confidence in its ability to manage itself and the power that it holds. Once again however, this does not mean I hate ordinary americans, most of my online friends are americans lo

Chapter 13: Ars Amicitiae

I wish I had started on this sooner, because I think my memory is pretty much shot of the last few months. I don't remember things as specifically as I once did, though this may largely be due to the fact that I have had much less to do on Neoseeker. My post count hardly raises at the level it once did, a year ago, averaging 1000 per month. I think this is due to many reasons. For one, I lost interest in the USA forum, and I do not even have it on my favorite forums list anymore. It had always been a struggling forum, and it eventually sunk to an all time low, that I did not think it even needed a moderator anymore. When I checked back, after a few months, it was more active. I have had similar trouble in IE. A new conservative, silverboner, helped me to realize how tiring it can be to debate things like abortion and religion incessantly. It is especiall

Bailing Out The Auto Industry

As many of us already know, the bailout bill for The Big Three automakers, Ford, GM, and Chrysler, was shot down recently by conservative Republicans, despite the efforts by Democrats and President Bush to give $14 billion in loans to the industries, which predict bankruptcy in less than two weeks, although Ford is said to be able to survive the lack of bailout money. Still, its future is pretty bleak.

In addition to the $14 billion dollars (which was reduced from about $25 billion), the plan called for a "car czar", to be appointed by the president. The car czar would have the authority to give out the loans to the automakers, but also to cut their funds and bankrupt them if they did not work out deals with labor and do more to increase their own viability. Fuel-efficiency would likely be another mandate under the upcoming Obama Administration. The bill was shot down, after passing 2

Chapter 12: Moving Forward, Yet Looking back

Alright, so it has been quite a while since I last updated. Not that too much as happened since then, though. Neoseeker, for me, has been rather uneventful. Not that it is a bad thing, of course.

I remained fairly active until the end of September. My average of a thousand posts a month has diminished, and fortunately, I am not bothered by it. I still post regularly, though, but since school started, I have had less available time. The same can be said for many other members. A lot of my time has also been spent on the Kingdom Hearts wiki. These last few months, I have worked diligently on updating and improving it. A lot o
