I can say quite the opposite too. I've picked up games so many months/years later and sometimes wonder how the heck I still remember how to do some random, specific, move or command. It's pretty amazing sometimes. ;p
And haha, "I Want To Believe". I've always hated that title, though, I ironically saw the first episode of X-Files shortly after and found out why it made sense. Even then, I always meant to check out that movie, but never got around to bothering too.
Then again, you say staring at the wall should give me the same experience? ;p
Shooting games are easy enough (on the PC at least) but "original" games or racing games make me a mess.
World of warcraft and warhammer both have a lot of keys to press, and the keys do different things depending on your character so when I haven't logged in to one for a while I spend about 10 min, trying to figure out where all my spells are.
I usually group actions that are the same or similar effect in the same spot, but its still fustrationing to have to re-learn what all the buttons i set up actually do
I've forgotten the controls of a few games everytime I sit down and play it, like GTA IV and Spider-Man 3 on the 360. I would sit down with GTA IV and think it was the controls of another similar game.
Kept wondering why the Right Analog didnt move the camera, and i got pissed off in a boss fight when i couldnt find the Drive menu.
Sometimes, I take the time to get better at the game again... but other times, I just give up and wait a few months before trying. XD
I do have a few games where this has happened though. I got my butt handed to me in Soul Calibur II because I couldn't remember any of the combos I had been using before.
