I think it really depends on whether the games are region locked and/or the people supplying the contest wish to only target a certain region

it's not evident that Redemption is the administrator until you see his tag and he doesn't post everywhere so there's alot of people who don't even know who he is.

I think we have plenty of information on how Neoseeker began. What I would like to know more about is how the forums started. Like, specifically how things worked. The moderation system, the kind of posting that went on...that kind of stuff.

I used Redemption as my username during my Warcraft II days . I switched to that from Infinity, which was my original username in games and online.

I should clarify: I was never on the vBulletin "team". That "team" was 2 guys working on a prototype for their VB programming site. I was part of the threads that discussed making the forum software with a database backend. Those guys went on to finishing "vBulletin" and I made neoforums because I didn't want to wait for them to release their forum. I did however, if I am not mistaken, come up with the innovation to link to multiple pages of a thread from the browse pages. Before I did that for UBB all the forum software never showed links to individual threads from browsing threads. It's my one innovative contribution to society .
