Threw Linux on my laptop, since I have a PC for gaming, and my laptop is my "lets screw with this and see what happens"/learning to program machine.
Linux Mint ended up being my distro of choice, partly from a recommendation (Thanks Kevin S, Whiteandblue & Hman), and partly because while it's recommended for beginners, Ubuntu looked iffy to me since I hate orange/brown, and Mint is a tweaked offspring of Ubuntu that has a lime green tint to it, much better color.
Messed it up, twice. Both times were just my stupidity. First mess-up was I copied the files from the .iso file to a disc in a sloppy manner, so I couldn't boot off it. Second mistake was I tried to install drivers that required an OS restart while running off the disc. Derp. As for when I finally got things right, it went insanely easy. Even more of a pleasant experience than installing XP, Vista, or Win7 was. Especia
By the way, supposedly the movie was boring. It was my first HP movie, so I was less bored from trying to figure out who everybody was, but yeah.
So a couple days ago I set up plans with some friends to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (or whatever the one that came out recently is, I'm guessing here) at a Drive-In movie theater. Told the parents I'd be gone, why, and where; Next day I went off to lands full of popcorn and friends. Long story short, the entire night was pretty awesome, we had a house all to ourselves and such once the movie finished, good times were had.
A couple hours after most people had run off their separate ways, my mom slams open the front door to the house that isn't hers, marches upstairs, and chews me out for not telling her where I was. Now I sit here awaiting the "punishment they are thinking up", which no doubt will suck badly. More so than my mom read more..
It's nice knowing that neo BBC works in these. Means I can use NAMFox still. Which means it's time for some more useless babbling about my day. Because for once my day was actually interesting in my opinion.
Today was a pretty okay birthday I must admit. The entire day I was being attacked by my two little cousins. The little girl, quote "wants to sleep with me". I almost bursted out into laughter. The little boy was a perfect example of great marketing. When he saw my DS the first things out of his mouth: Pokemon. According to his parental units, he's never seen, nor played, and Pokemon...anything. Which baffled me for a moment until I heard the rest of the story. And I must admit, it's great marketing. He hears everybody at school constantly talk about it, so he's obsessed with it. Why? So he can be 'cool'. I let him try PM Emerald, but he didn't get it since he's too young, only 5. Yet read more..
Well this feature took forever to find. Especially since I don't ever use neo's front page at all. My homepage is my.neoforum. Works out great really, I turn on firefox to research and study, and get sidetracked by all the new posts I want to read. Maybe if I change my homepage to something that shows my college class's grades I'll be more inclined to actually do some studying for the first time in years.
Then again, maybe not.
Doubtful that this really matters to anybody here but me, but then again, this is a blog. It's used to fuel narcissistic urges to talk about oneself in the vain thought strain that somebody actually cares. For those who do care, or at least pretend to. I turn 19 today. On a holiday of all days. I'm actually wishing that the poor mailman has to do his route today. Means I get Left 4 Dead on my birthday, rather than after it. Birthday gift > Worker rights. Oddly enoug
