Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my first blog post on Neoseeker and... well... ever. I plan on updating this as much as my school schedule and laziness allows with new blog posts about whatever is on my mind at the moment and whatnot. So, yeah, I don't really have any general theme in mind... Now that that's out of the way, I would like to talk or type - whatever - about something that's been on my mind lately: games for the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. That's right. Games. For a calculator. I'll allow that to sink in for a moment...

To get games on your calculator, you'll need a calculator like the TI-83 or the TI-84 and the TI Connect software and link cable that should have come with your calculator. Most games will require that you have MirageOS or something similar installed on your calculator. I don't know much about the other options, but MirageOS is fairly easy to find and install if TI Connect is working properly - TI Connect can be a real pain sometimes. Once MirageOS is installed, you're set to install whatever games you want. I choose Phoenix - a game somewhat similar to Galaga that quickly frustrated me with its controls and speed - and Super Mario Land I.

Let me tell you something, having Super Mario Land I handy at school is absolute heaven for me. I find it so relaxing to be able to drift off to my dream land of plumbers, turtles, and mushrooms when I start to get stressed during my long school day - which this year includes no break for the first semester. My calculator games have even grabbed the attention of my peers and teachers alike. My friends have bugged me constantly - both wanting a chance to play and seeking advice on how they might go about getting Super Mario Land I on their calculators. Luckily - and even surprisingly considering how often I play in class - as far as teachers go, I have not gotten in trouble over it a single time. As a matter of fact, teachers are far more interested than they are angry when they catch me in the process of collecting 1-ups and smooshing Goombas when I should probably be taking notes.

Anyways, it is late as I am writing this and it is a school night, so I have to go ahead and get this posted and hit the sack so that I might go to school tomorrow and play video games during break with my friends or while a teacher gives a dreadfully long monologue. But I leave you with a question: What games do you have on your calculator?
