The answer is Zero.

Basically what I said in the rest of the riddle. :3 Zero is 'worthless'.

Try building a computer without coming across the number zero. =P

Time has to start at zero. Example: The calendar can't start at one.

It's zero, it means nothing if you look it up in the English dictionary. :3
