Woogle!!!

So, yesterday was mid-blowing! =D

Having made a short video for Youtube during the summer, I won a competition for the most views against 3 other videos made by others. The prize- A free iPod and a day's internship in Google!

Okay, so I'm still waiting for my iPod. >.> And I did have to send 3 emails to remind Google about my prize, so I'll sort that out soon enough. But Google HQ is AMAZING.

We walk into reception. On the wall there is a huge projection of Google Earth on the wall, flying around to random places! Pretty cool. But beside it, a list of random words and phrases scrolling down. Our guide told us it was a live feed of things people are Googling right now. Such spying capabilities! @_@

Upstairs we came across the visitor computers, so I proudly sent a PM saying "I'm on a computer in Google!" We then had a game of foosball, as there was a table nearby (My team won, obviously). We

Making a difference

So last night I was watching Rude Tube. It's basically about the most popular videos on Youtube, and has a few cheap laughs. But it was actually quite interesting, or at least some of it was.

A very high-ranking video was one about the guy who came home to Australia to find nobody waiting for him. He then launched a campaign in which he stood outside the airport with a sign, "FREE HUGS". He welcomed complete strangers back home, and I thought it was a really nice gesture. The thing is, people followed his lead and did the same, and thus there was more love in the world.

And it made me realise that I want to make a difference. I want to catch people's attention and more importantly, make them
ponder something important. I want to do something cool, and moving.

I'm now trying to think up some awesome publicity stunt. Ideas?

Shopping

So yesterday I went shopping. Big whoop. Bought a hoodie, two t-shirts, a bar of chocolate and a drink.

But here's the thing- It was my first solo shopping trip. I've NEVER gone clothes shopping without a parent with me. I'm 16.

I hate shopping. It's hot, boring and my feet always hurt afterwards. Nothing ever fits and clothes today suck. But this time, it wasn't so bad! It was actually sorta fun, and I got what I wanted. Nice cool and cheap stuff, I'm proud of me! =D

So yeah, I've been converted. Shopping rules.

I've also finished reading an awesome book, "Chasing Vermeer" by Blue Balliet. Really worth a look if you like children's books, a great mystery and overall an enjoyable read. Also, there's a message hidden in the illustrations! I'm trying to crack the code, it's fun!

Nananananananananananananananananana BATMAN!

Completed Lego Batman a few days ago. 20 hours of pure fun. Cue nostalgia.

I've always loved Lego. Still remember the first set I got. My Aunt gave it to my brother and I, it was this awesome space station with a spaceship. That evening Whitefalcon and I sat at the kitchen table, building away happily. Over the years we've continued building and playing with Lego, getting better and more inventive. At 16 though I've stopped buying sets. It was much simpler when I didn't have to use my money. XD

Batman is equally awesome. Used to watch the gay old show with my brother when we were younger. One of my earliest memories is getting up with WF at 7AM, going downstairs, turning on Batman, and sitting behind the couch eating peanut butter with sppons. XD Those were the days, huh?

The game is so fun, simple yet entertaining. It certainly wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I like playing easy gam

Dual fun

It's all about DS these days. That's right, without a PS3 I have resorted to handheld gaming, and it rocks! =D

One day I come home, and see this external hard-drive sitting besude my computer. I ask Dad "What's this for?"

ONLY THE BEST POINTLESS GIFT EVAR! =D

Turns out this mother*bleep*er has a terrabyte of music and DS games! From S-Club Seven to Metallica, Atomic Kitten to Rammstein, there's almost everything imaginable. The iPod Classic is that much closer to 120GB used. XD

Also, my Dad got R4s. They're cards onto which you can put loads of stuff, including games, obviously. They also have a few other awesome features...

Games on the R4

The R4 iPod application! =D Playing Safety Dance, of course.

Progress Update

So, stuff has been happening, and stuff will be happening soon! Even have a bit of good news!

Digital Graphic Large Piece

This event has come and gone, and we didn't do too bad! Our two awesome entrants were Linkin Park Fan and Sapphire Dragon. Here's what they came up with:

Planet Starscape (SD)
Becoming Mother Nature (LPF)

Here's what the judges said:

Linkin Park Fan

I was pleasantly surprised by your entry. The color, the concept, and the blending are all great. I'm not a huge fan of those overlapping circles, though, and the typography is terrible.

Score: 9.0

Sapphire Dragon

What hurts you most is the lack of creativity. It looks like a pretty standard tutorial. Also, in the future, try saving as PNG or higher quality JPG so you don't get that ring effect coming from the lens flare.

Score: 6.5
