So this week there were many games to look out for and the more important ones to look for were Tottenham vs Manchester United and the other Manchester City vs Arsenal games which were among teams that were from the top six. Both Manchester City and Tottenham have proved this year at least for the first few weeks that they're teams to be reckoned with, with Tottenham winning all their games so far among those beating Liverpool. Machester City have also proven that they've improved and have kept a 100% record against all teams but this week both of them have been to the test.
First off Tottenham faced Manchester United, a team which some believe will struggle this season with the absense of Cristiano Ronaldo. The match started off immediately with a goal from Defoe putting the Spurs ahead 1-0 before the first minute mark. This however wasn't the end of the London side's attacks, but Machester United bounced back pretty quickly missing 2 opportunities for scoring after conceding one by Scholes and another by Fletcher. After that Tottenham continued with more attacks with saves from Ben Foster keeping them away from scoring. On 25 minutes Wilson Palacios got booked for a foul on Berbatov but worse than that was the free kick that Giggs scored very well, leveling the game 1-1. After that United showed some spirit for the rest of the game and Anderson scored before half time and sent his team ahead 2-1. In the second half Scholes got sent off for his good ol' sliding tackles earning him his ninth red card in his career. But this still didn't stop the team from Manchester to carry on ,yet score another goal by Wayne Rooney in the 78th minute, the striker who's been very well on form these days. The game ended 1-3 and United have won.
Meanwhile at the city of Manchester, Manchester City themselves had a tough game against Arsenal. Arsenal had lost their last game against Manchester United themselves and were hoping to get back on track. This was a game you shouldn't have missed but it was harsh at times. Anyway the game was full of goals with starting off with Micah Richards heading a free kick ball against the post which got deflected and hit Almunia back into the net. In the second half Van Persie scored in the 62nd minute for Arsenal leveling the game only to leave room for Bellamy and former Arsenal player Adebayor and later on Wright-Phillips score for Man City turning the game into City's favour. Adebayor had in this match stamped Van Persie in the face earlier on and celebrated in front of the Arsenal fans, doing somethings that shouldn't be done by a professional footballer. Rosický's late goal couldn't do any good either as City were already ahead 3 goals and that only ended the game 4-2 in Manchester City's favour.
In other places Liverpool thrashed Burnley with Benayoun getting a hat-trick. Anf Chelsea also won with a late goal in a dominant game against Stoke City. On Sunday Everton lost yet again, this time against Fulham, they're in big trouble now. Here are the full results:
